Ambassador ProgramQ: What is an ambassador? A: According to the American Heritage® Dictionary: ambassador (n.) A diplomatic official of the highest rank appointed and accredited as a representative in residence by one government or sovereign to another, usually for a specific length of time. ambassador (n.) A diplomatic official heading his or her country's permanent mission to certain international organizations, such as the United Nations. ambassador (n.) An authorized messenger or representative.
The Virtual Nation Ambassador Program is a combination of the second and third definitions from above. Meaning, our program is made up of virtual professionals from all over the globe who share our ethics, mission, and vision; they are willing to represent The Virtual Nation and the virtual professional community at large wherever they happen to be. The basic functions of the position is to work collaboratively in the effort to bring about an awareness of the value Virtual Professionals bring to the global economy. It is each ambassador's responsibility to assist in the research and development of the five areas of concentration and be prepared to present and share their results with the group and The Virtual Nation™ membership at large. Why should I become an ambassador?
How many ambassador positions are available? There will only be five positions available. We want to keep the group small in order to be the most effective and accomplish the goals of The Virtual Nation™ and the virtual professional community at large. How are ambassadors invited to participate in the program? Currently, ambassadors are either invited by Michelle Ulrich, the founder of The Virtual Nation™ or requested via email. We are also working on possibilities that include nominations by the membership and other methods. If you would like to be considered for the Ambassador Program, please send an email to Michelle Ulrich at michelle [at] thevirtualnation.com. How much does the program cost? To become an ambassador, there is a monthly or annual fee.
What is expected of me (job descriptions)? There are five areas of concentration, so each person will be in charge of one area. Areas will overlap, therefore, we will all share in the workload.
What should I expect during the meetings? Meetings will begin and end on time. We will adhere to Roberts Rules of Order and use an agenda to facilitate the topics of the day. All members will share in the friendly, collaborative environment. Who should attend the meetings? All members of the Ambassador Program. Meetings will be held via teleclass as not all members may be from the same geographic area. The Ambassador Agreement will further detail job descriptions, rules of conduct and responsibilities.
